Art town 2014 - CHAP

Hi Fellowers. I know I should have posted this a month ago but life got in the way. Sorry. In my previous post I mention that I was going to Melbourne for a live art show. For 2 days I was at the Windsor Annex doing my typographic pattern artwork for the live art event Art town. The brief was simple, "What is Chapel St to you?" I was inspired by the buildings and vintage type around the area and thought the street oozes style and that it transcends time. Thus my typographic artwork was CHAP. It was nice being in Melbourne because I haven't been there for a while and I went on my birthday too which was a plus! Thought to myself - if i could do this everyday, I could be the happiest girl in the world!! Hopefully that time happens soon.

Art Town 2014

Hi Everyone, this weekend is going to be a very exciting weekend for me because I'm going down to Melbourne for this live art show called Art town. Art Town, in it's second year, is an initiative supported by Chapel St Precinct that attempts to break down the walls of the gallery space and to put art in unexpected spaces and in the face of new audience. I'm going to be doing live art on this 5th and 6th of April at the store The Windsor Annex. I'm so excited!! because not only I get to do something fun, it's also my birthday on Sunday. Yay!! But yes, you can drop any time between 11am - 3pm to say hello on the 5th or the 6th of April. I would love to meet you guys.

Torchmedia Blackboard Advertising Sign

Hi Everyone, long time no post, recently I collaborated with my work colleague on some liquid chalk typo work for an advertising firm TORCHMEDIA. It's their 7th year birthday and they decided to do a contest. They got me and my work college to create artwork for a chalkboard ad and the results are above. Had a lot of fun drawing on this board and I hope to do more jobs like this one!

London Scene

Hi Everyone. Long time no post on this blog. I've been busy with my other blog The Daily Oxford. Recently I entered in a contest for making a scene of London that includes the Tower Bridge and Big Ben in a Frank Lloyd Wright concept. It got considered but didn't win. But hopefully I get more opportunities to do this because it was really fun!

Taronga Zoo Wild Rhino's Project

Hi Fellowers, it's been a while and late last year I've been a very busy women indeed. Me, alongside 55 artist nationwide have been commissioned by Taronga Zoo to help raise funds for the zoo's rhino breeding program. The Rhinos will be displayed publicly around Sydney CBD for a month, collected and then sold off at an auction held by the zoo. All funds raise will go directly to helping the zoo and the breeding program. My one is "Porcelain Rhino" as the species is getting increasingly fragile as the the imitation of porcelain reflects on that aspect. Without protection, it will be lost forever.

Sponsored by QBE, you might see "Jenny the Porcelain Rhino" at the QBE reception. It was a pleasure painting this rhino. It was hard work but with the help of friends and family, it was all worth the effort and at the end of it, sad to part with Jenny. She'll be officially out on the streets 2nd of February and hope you guys bump into it!! Don't damage it please!! She's fragile...
